Interestingly, I walked out feeling much as you did after Podcamp -- "should I run to the Apple store and stock up?" But you know, you can only do what you can do. iPhone isn't the answer to life and I too am not willing to shell out money for another service right now. Just work with what you have!!

On the Jim and Andy presentation, and the subsequence conversation, the 5th estate is rising because the 4th estate (of which I'm a part) has in some ways let down the public, which its supposed to defend. So I'm all for a watchdog for the watchdog, as long as everyone acts responsibly. I do however hate blanket statements about "the media" - we're not all corrupt shills for the establishment and there are many hard working journalists who are fighting to get good, educational, informational stories out every night.

Helen, Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the Generations and Social Media presentation I gave. Your questions and comments helped make the conversation more meaningful. As well, your contributions to the Second Life workshop we both attended jazzed me up about Second Life and our national government. All is not lost when GenXers do what needs to be done. :-)

I also found Jim and Andy's presentation compelling and valuable.

Rock on.
